LUCHA (Latinos Unidos Con Honor y Amistad) strives to unify, educate and empower Latinos within NYU as well as our respective communities.
LUCHA chose this poem because it highlights the simplistic yet powerful nature of the garden and meaning behind it. You don’t to know big fancy words to communicate your love of human lives and the environment. You don’t need a degree to notice that our planet doesn’t feel the same way it used to.
The language involving any environmental issue is a beautiful and detrimental thing. The people that are the most vulnerable to environmental distress do not have the access to most of this language. Their voices are not heard because of this. It is important to keep environmental work accessible for all and advocate for those voices not yet heard.
LUCHA is tending to “Eloquence” by Kimberly Blaeser.
