Laura is tending to “Return” by Kathy Engel, along with Emily Gaines, and Micheal Hooker.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Laura Cabochan is a social practice artist and scholar. She works with communities to make spaces for fellowship and civic engagement through the arts. She has collaborated with various groups, from youth theatres to senior centers, here in New York City and abroad. She is currently in her second year of doctoral studies in NYU-Steinhardt’s Educational Theatre Program.
Laura lived in Japan this summer and was witness to the series of natural calamities that visited the country. Add to this the environmental troubles her home country is facing, she sees this community arts project as an opportunity to collectively reflect on what’s happening to the world and what actions we can take.
